The extension bar is pictured below. It'll install the same way the gate does.
I just received this gate but there is a gap betwixt the latch and the part of the gate where it is supposed to latch onto of over an inch, there is no style these two points connect fifty-fifty when pushing together with all of my forcefulness - am I missing something or is this defective?

You will find a slight gap between the gate door latch and the frame. This is not a defect. Your gate is a pressure mounted gate and this gap will disappear once you tighten your gate in its opening.

Not for cats and door will not close
The instructions were practiced and it was easy to install. The gate is sturdy. This gate is fabricated for pocket-sized people, not pets. My ten pound cats walked through the side bars easily. They could non go through the narrower bars of moving gate element. I assume it would be the same with a small dog. And, the worst flaw, regardless of the species, is the height of the gate is flush with the door knob, so you cannot open and close the door with the gate installed. My door knob is non unusually shaped or mounted in a not-standard position, so I assume this would be a universal problem. The production Q&A specifically said the door would however piece of work, and this is not true. So, if you take a larger pet and don't need to shut the door, this product might work for you. The return process is non transparent; I had to dig deep on the Chewy website to figure out what to practise and then learned I had to send an e-mail. I sent the email three days ago and do not have a reply. To Chewy's credit, however, they accept a customer service telephone number where you tin talk to real people who seem to exist in the The states.

Worked Well for United states
To become a good night's slumber, I needed to put i wooden baby gate on top of the other in the doorway, so I was excited to discover this product. It installed hands, latches securely, and Tia tin't bound over it. Be aware, the pic shows it with the one included extension; for a 32-inch door, we didn't need that part. The gate opening is sixteen.5 inches, so robust folks would need to go through sideways.

Very like shooting fish in a barrel to use
I got this for my front door, then I obviously put it in and and then take it out each fourth dimension. It was fairly unproblematic to assemble and placing it and removing it is a cinch! The door latch is extremely easy to use and the door opens broad plenty to get a bike through. Information technology is tall plenty to non have to worry most my medium-sized poodle jumping over. He loves to sit and scout the world become by! I would highly recommend this production

Does not fit full size range.
I'm sure this gate is great when it fits your doorway, however this gate just covers portions of its claimed size range. Without the extender information technology is as well small, however with the extender it becomes also large. This is unfortunate equally information technology was the only gate on chewy that claimed to encompass 34 inch doorways.

If yous want a 41 inch tall gate, do non go this!
I purchased this gate in platinum because the clarification said the black and platinum would exist 41 inches alpine. The kickoff gate came and it was only 36 inches tall, and said so on the box. I called Chewy they send me another i afterward I explained the issue and the aforementioned verbal gate game once again at 36 inches tall. So if yous want 41 inches tall gate, practice not waste your time.

Amazing fence only huge issue
This fence would have a perfect review from me the meridian is great nice and high. The quality of the fence is well made and not flimsy. My only issue which is a big one is that they just give y'all ane extra attachment so that you lot can extend this fence to fit a larger size door area. I've purchased multiple kid fences and have always had both attached included in the fences that give yous the power to fit larger doorways. So probably my error if not fully paying attending and only expecting stuff to be included. When you keep their website they are all outta stock and don't take a known fourth dimension they will exist back in. Now with this said the client service was extremely helpful and responding dorsum quickly. I but think information technology is a huge over look that if yous need the attachments larger then the standard one to help fit slightly larger doorways they should ever be included with two and the larger attachments should exist an actress kit. This is but a huge overlook and maybe a cost cut for the visitor but actually merely an inconvenience for your customers needs. I'd rather the price be set correctly with all pieces needed for this. I still practice take this fence and have had to effigy out a way to make it work for us and waiting to see if the extra piece actually comes in. But to be enlightened that this is an issue pay attention to all the dimensions and be aware that the attachments at this time to extend the gate are probably out without a time frame on when or when if they volition restock. Im sure this is just due to the pandemic at this fourth dimension.

perfect purchase!
In that location are many things I dearest about these gates. First the toll--- half of what I would pay in a regular pet chain shop. 2d, they come in several colors, not just white. Third these are easy to install. Once you go the hang of how the gate latch works, and that you can slip the main latch under a sliding tab to really lock the gate-- yous will be very happy with it. My crafty canis familiaris tin can't open up information technology!

Doesn't open up and close when tight enough to stay on the wall
I am and so disappointed this gate doesn't work. When the ends are screwed out enough to continue it tight on the wall, the door won't open and shut but when you lot exit information technology loose enough for the door to work it falls down because it's non screwed tight plenty to keep it on the wall. So at present I have to loosen the ends to open the door then tighten them again in one case I'm washed.

Our door is as wide as the gate is advertised to handle. One time installed, information technology is plenty sturdy for our three rambunctious miniature schnauzers to accept seriously. We've had no problems, fifty-fifty when the cat on the other side of the gate is teasing them If you lot have big dogs who will push against the gate, I would not recommend this if your doorway is at the limits of this gate's specs.

Latch gets stuck
I honey how tall this gate is. Really helpful if you have little jumpers at home. It's pretty solid except after a month and a one-half the latch gets stuck. I don't know if it needs some grease, but it shouldn't afterward such a brusk fourth dimension using it.
